Guest play

Saves, difficulty, and theme stay on your device. Guest guesses are not uploaded to our game database. Clearing browser data can remove them. We use no third-party advertising trackers or tracking pixels.

Optional analytics

If you allow it, Google Analytics measures public page visits, traffic sources, device information, and engagement. It uses first-party cookies to recognize this browser. Google receives connection information when its analytics script and measurements load. We do not send account identifiers, email addresses, guesses, answers, saved progress, form contents, or URL query strings. Account pages are excluded. Advertising features and Google signals are off.

Analytics stays off until you opt in. Your choice and analytics cookies last up to six months; Google retains event-level data for two months, while aggregate reports can remain longer. Turning analytics off stops future measurement and removes this site’s analytics cookies; it does not erase data already received by Google. This browser preference is separate from game saves, sign-in, and email preferences. Clearing browser data resets it.

Accounts

WorkOS handles Google and email sign-in using a secure session cookie. Convex stores your completed puzzle dates, game, difficulty or size, Between guess counts and dictionary use, and Tether hint use. These results supply your statistics and streaks across devices and sync automatically after a solve. Your guesses, board arrangements, and unfinished puzzles stay on your device. Bringing existing guest completions to an account is your choice; you can also discard guest saves.

Account saves are cached separately on each device for offline play. Signing out removes that account’s downloaded saves. Sign out on shared devices. Hosting and service providers process connection information and operational logs.

Email preferences & profile photos

Marketing emails are optional and off unless you choose them. Convex records your account’s choice, when it changed, and the wording you agreed to. Change this preference in your account at any time. Signing in or bringing guest saves never opts you in, and clearing game progress keeps your email choice.

When available, your WorkOS or Google profile photo appears in navigation. Your browser loads it from that provider without sending the page address. If it is unavailable, an account icon appears instead.

Sponsorship

Bidding requires sign-in. Convex stores your account identifier, contact email, brand, website, description, bid amount, chosen slot, and week. Bidder details and individual bids are private to you and the operator. Public minimums may indicate the range of a leading bid. Approved, paid ads publish the brand and link during their week. Invoices and payment are arranged separately; we collect no card or wallet details here.

We count first-party ad views and clicks by campaign, slot, and UTC week, separating paid sponsors from our own products. No game guesses or account identities are attached to these measurements. A temporary page identifier stays in memory; event receipts and connection-rate keys are stored as keyed digests that rotate daily. Raw addresses are not stored in these tables. Event receipts expire after 24 hours and rate keys after one hour; cleanup runs in bounded batches. Aggregate campaign totals remain for reporting.

The optional email builder keeps your draft on this page until you copy it or open your email app. We receive it only if you send the email. Correspondence stays in our mailbox. Private bid and invoice records remain until removed by the operator; older auction records keep their original meaning. Contact us to request sponsorship-record removal. We do not sell player profiles to sponsors.

View your progress and email preferences on your account page. Tether has download controls in its statistics dialog, plus device-clear controls for guest saves.
