Daily number game
How to play Tether
Make every link fit. Tether is a free daily number puzzle: arrange the supplied numbers so each connection matches its clue. There is no timer or attempt limit.

The rules
Choose a space, then a number
Tap an empty space on the grid, then a number in the tray to place it. Each supplied number belongs in exactly one space across the entire board. This is a whole-grid rule, rather than a separate set of numbers for every row.
Read the links
A Total clue is the sum of the two linked numbers. A Gap clue is the larger number minus the smaller. For example, 3 and 6 make Total 9, while 6 and 8 make Gap 2. Either order gives the same clue value.
Make every clue match
A check mark means that link currently matches. It does not prove either number is in its final position: those numbers may also connect to other spaces. Fill the board and satisfy all the links to solve the puzzle.
Three sizes, three daily puzzles
Mini is a 2×3 grid with six distinct numbers drawn from 1–9 and seven links. Classic is a 3×3 grid using 1–9 with twelve links. Large is a 4×4 grid using 1–16 with twenty-four links.
Each size has an independent daily puzzle, draft, and statistics. Every published puzzle has one solution. Switching sizes keeps your work, so you can return to a grid later.
A useful place to start
Look for a clue with only a few possible pairs in the supplied numbers. A small total or a large gap can be a useful starting point. If two links share a space, compare their possible pairs to see which number could belong in both.
Keep the whole board in mind. A pair that fits one clue may prevent another from working, especially once one of its numbers has already been placed elsewhere.
Change your mind freely
Select a space and tap a number that is already on the grid to swap the two positions. You can also remove a number, undo, redo, or clear the arrangement and start again. There is no penalty for trying a different idea.
If you would like help, a hint reveals a correct placement and marks that puzzle as assisted. Undoing the move does not remove the assistance mark. A hinted solve still counts as a completion and a streak day.
Daily play & progress
When is the next puzzle?
New puzzles arrive at midnight in Vancouver. The Next puzzles countdown shows the time until the shared reset, wherever you play.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play for free and keep progress on this browser. Sign in to keep completed puzzles, statistics, and streaks across devices. Unfinished puzzles stay on this device. Bringing existing guest completions into an account is your choice. Clearing browser data can remove device saves.
Can I play offline?
Yes, after a successful online visit has cached the game. The installed release includes the daily puzzles and rules. Account saves sync when you reconnect; a first visit still needs an internet connection.
What counts toward my streak?
Solving at least one puzzle in any game or level counts as a collection streak day. Several solves on the same day still count as one day. Hints and dictionary use count too, with assistance shown honestly in your statistics.
